Because our country also had some people who represented their country in front of the whole world for their skills, qualifications and good deeds. So, if we come to the field of politics, then the name of a great man will surely come to our mind and he is Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu, a great leader born in 1945 in Anwara Haildhar Thana of Chittagong.

 

How He Gained His Experience Of Business

 

Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu returned to his homeland in December, 1964 with an associate’s degree after completing his studies abroad. After completing his studies and returning home, he joined the business with his elder brother in 1965. His skills and experience in business are at home while doing business with his elder brother.

He entered politics in 1967, two years after joining the business. While doing politics he suddenly concentrated on business again though he was active in business and politics alongside his elder brother.

 

His Organisations Before He Built UCB Bank

 

Not only a mature politician, he became a business guy. He changed into a totally energetic person in business as well as politics. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu modified into a a hit businessman and industrialist. His biggest contribution is today’s “United Commercial Bank’, also known as short form UCB. He has played a pioneering role in establishing the private banking sector in Bangladesh. He is the founder of United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL), the second largest private bank in the country. He was re-elected as the Chairman of the Bank in 2011 and held the post till her death. Now Mrs.Rukhmila Zaman holds the post.

 

Inspiring Reason Behind To Open UCB Bank

 

As everyone knows, Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu’s aim from the beginning was to benefit the people. In our country now, as millions of unemployed youth are sitting at home due to lack of jobs, at that time there was the same problem in our country. Our great leader Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was worried about this. So, Mr.Chowdhury Babu thought that if I set up different institutions or factories, then the unemployed youth of the country will get the opportunity to work, and their employment will be arranged. Moreover, these institutions will play an important role in the economy of the country.

With this in mind, Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu slowly started building various institutions and finally established UCB, the most famous bank in Bangladesh. Moreover, not much private bank was seen at that time, all the banks in the country were government. The private bank was probably one. In this Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu thought that there should be more private banks in Bangladesh. He built today’s UCB bank without much thought.
