Basic Information About Mr Babu
Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was born on 1 May, 1945. He was elected a member of the Dakkhin Zila Chhatra League in 1956.. He also represented the Chittagong-12 vicinity later. Mr Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was widely known for his position as the president of the South Chittagong District Unit of the Bangladesh Awami League. He was selected for the post in 1977 and served as the president till his death.

When Bangabandhu was murdered in 1975, Mr Babu still maintained contact with the leaders of the party even though his life was at risk. He played a courageous part in the revival and reorganisation of the party.
Mr Babu also used his parliamentary rights to develop Chittagong. He worked for concrete developments that’d last long. Predictably he received the “Independence Award 2021” for his incredible contributions!
Mr Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was like a guardian to us all. He always helped us in every way possible. Mr Babu always tried to take advantage of his position to help the country and its people for their betterment. As he died, we lost our guardian. The country lost a great patriot and freedom fighter. However, Mr Babu will always be alive in our minds. The whole nation salutes him for his bravery and services towards the country and its people. Mr Babu will always remain the ideal kind of politician that everyone aspires to be.
