Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was an excellent industrialist and businessperson. He introduced the business practice in the industry in the early 60s. He aimed to set up an industry before the liberation war and pursued it for decades. He established the Boyle industry in 1965 after tackling the boundaries. 

After independence, he moved his attention to the left-out foreign mills. He bought Vanguard Steel Mill and Synthetic Resin Products and reinforced it. He established the well-known business organization Zaman Industrial Group in the ‘80s. He also purchased the foreign-owned Armit Mill and constructed it on a solid foundation.

He helped the party to air the announcement countrywide from his house to Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.

He was a representative in foreign awareness as well as a freedom fighter. He visited Europe so that he can gather knowledge and let people know about Bangladesh.
